Situation

Banini A.D. is fast-growing and successful company from Kikinda, Srbia. It is one of the national leaders in sweets and snacks production. Founded the 1979, Banini is today a symbol of tradition, persistency and quality. 75% of production is sold on local Serbian market, where Banini ranks in top-three manufacturers in almost all categories, 25% of production exports.

Business challenges

The company wanted to increase their market, but it wasn’t possible with the existing production capacity. Two main challenges were increasing of the production and increasing the quality of biscuits.

Reasons

The bottleneck in the biscuit production line was the packaging, where activities were performed manually.

Needs and solution

Mr. Branko Malenčič, Banini’s technical director said, that he needs the solution for:
1.The bottlenecks elimination,
2.Increase in daily production with less workers,
3.Increase in quality of products.

Inea build the whole robotized cookies packaging line with the automated transport and robotized packaging of the biscuits from transport line to the boxes. The cookies packing line consist of two robot cells. In each cell there are two Mitsubishi RH-10AH85 robots, which work synchronized.

Results

1.Increasing of daily production from 12 to 22 tons;
2.Increasing of the quality of cookies for 20 percent (visual), what brings them to higher quality level;
3.12 workers less on the cookies packing line. If they want to achieve the same quantity as with the robots with the human, they must employ additional 39 people.
