Cookie Policy

I. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to the user’s computer when they visit the site and usually include:

  • the name of the server from which the cookie was sent,
  • cookie lifetime,
  • value (number, string, etc.).

There are several types or categories of cookies: temporary/permanent, own/foreign, urgently needed to operate the site/less urgent; partially intrusive cookies that provide statistics; very intrusive cookies that perform statistics and process personal data. Regardless of which categories the cookies belong to, each category has a total time-limited duration.

Cookies can, therefore, perform some important functions, such as site personalization and improvement of user experience.

All web sites visitors have many cookies from different websites on their computers, tablets, and mobile phones. Their storage is under the control of a browser that the user has – which can be used to restrict or disable cookie storage. You can read more about cookies on  https://www.allaboutcookies.org/.

II. Why are cookies necessary?

Cookies are essential for providing a user-friendly online experience. The interaction between the web user and the site is faster and easier with the help of cookies. With their help, the site remembers the individual’s preferences and experience, which saves time and makes browsing more efficient and friendlier.

Some specific examples of using cookies:

  • for a better user experience of the website, we customize content according to the user’s language preference,
  • for device identification (computer, tablet, mobile) to adjust how content is displayed on the user’s device,
  • for anonymous reporting of demographic categories and visitors’ interests.

III. Types of cookies

We use two categories of cookies, as described below.

Group 1: Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are needed for the correct operation of the webpage. They are set up when you make any interaction with the website. Usage of this group of cookies is automatic and we do not provide any option to refuse them.

Group 2: Google Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us track visits to our web pages. We use the Google Analytics service for this. The service uses an anonymous identifier related to your device (and your user profile on the device, for multi-user devices). We never associate this anonymous identifier with any digital or physical personal identity (such as email address, credit card number or social security ID). Usage of this group of cookies is not automatic and we do not use them before obtaining your consent.

IV. Cookie Settings

We show you the Cookie Info Bar at the top of each page on the website until you agree to also accept group 2 (non-essential) cookies. The purpose of the Cookie Info Bar is to inform you about cookies and their usage on our website and to provide you with the options to accept non-essential cookies or not. Even if you agree to also accept group 2 (non-essential) cookies the Cookie Info Bar may re-appear after significant changes to our Cookie Policy (e.g. if new categories of cookies are introduced).

Note: Your preferences are stored in essential cookies on your device (and your user profile on the device, for multi-user devices). If you are using another device, you will need to set your preferences again on the new device. If you delete cookies, using the option that your device (or software program on it) provides you to delete cookies, you will need to set your preferences again. If you change the browser brand you use on your device (e.g. quit using Microsoft Edge and start using Mozilla Firefox), you will need to set your preferences again in the new browser.

You can revoke your agreement to use group 2 cookies by clicking here.
